ARLINGTON - Originally, this quick recap was going to be about Kaidon Salter and how he Vince Young'd Denton Guyer to open a Saturday triiple-header at AT&T Stadium.
For three quarters, that's just what happened. Cedar Hill was sitting pretty up 41-14 with 4:54 left in the third. The switch had been switched, though, by that point. We just didn't know it yet.
Denton Guyer responded 90 seconds later with a 33-yard touchdown throw from Eli Stowers to Brandon Deleon to make it 41-21.
Onside kick recovery.
Guyer drives and Cobbs scores from 2 yards out to make it 41-28.
Failed onside recovery.
Cedar Hill has the ball, looking at fourth down to start the fourth. It fails and Guyer has the ball back and the momentum meter definitely points in its direction.
Two-plus minutes later, Guyer scores again on an 11-yard Cobbs run and it's a one-possession game at 41-35.
Onside kick recovery. Why not.
Less than two minutes later, Stowers runs it in from 14 yards out, and after the PAT, Guyer takes its first lead of the game at 42-41.
Onside kick recovery...again for the third time in four tries.
Guyer drives nearly six minutes and Cobbs punches it in from two yards out. Before then, though, on fourth and three, Guyer designs beautiful pre-snap motion that draws the entire Cedar Hill defense offsides to extend the drive.
A 2-point conversion later, Guyer holds a two-possession lead and has scored 36 straight points to escape to the 6A Division II Region I semifinals.
