— damian ruiz (@Damianruiz42) November 11, 2020

Damian Ruiz went 7 of 15 for 137 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-20 victory against Huffman last week. That victory moved Livingston to 8-2 overall on the year and 5-0 in district. Being perfect in district play handed the Lions their first outright district title since 1963. The Lions will face Chapel Hill this weekend in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Zane Obregon (@Zane_Obregon_22) - Splendora

WILDCATS BEAT LCM 30-0! Playoff Bound! WE SEE RED!!! @SplendoraISD @Athletics_SISD @ConroeSports @vypehouston @Texan_Live pic.twitter.com/8eLbcx2Nul

For the third time this season, Zane Obregon is getting that VYPE Helmet Sticker. In a 30-0 victory over Little Cypress-Mauriceville, Obregon rushed for 177 yards and three scores on 37 carries. For the regular season, Obregon rushed for 1,619 yards and 14 touchdowns. His game-high in rushing yards was 221 and he eclipsed the 100-yard mark every single game. Now, Splendora will face Kilgore in the opening round of the playoffs.

Brodrick Brown has been a consistent force for Yates this season, which has now gotten them into the playoffs, where they will face El Campo in the opening round. In a 54-0 win last week over Washington, the sophomore went 2-of 2 for 30 yards and a score passing, two carries for 38 yards and a score rushing; defensively he had five tackles, and one interception and had 75 punt return yards. Overall, he racked up 143 yards and two touchdowns.

Kaleb Roberts (@K_robtheK9)  - Stafford

Stafford beat Bay City 30-19 last week, which punched their ticket to the playoffs. A big player in that was senior Kaleb Roberts. Defensively, Roberts finished with 11 tackles and had an interception as well. He also had 114 yards on kickoff returns with his longest being a 90-yard kickoff return. Stafford faces North Forest this week in the opening round of the playoffs.

The running attack at El Campo is unstoppable with Rueben Owens II gets going. Last week against Needville, Owens rushed for 214 yards and three scores on just 10 carries. That's an average of 21.4 yards per tote. That's insane. In nine regular season games, Owens rushed for 1,286 yards and 19 touchdowns. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark seven times. The Ricebirds enter the playoffs at 8-1 on the year and will face Jack Yates on Friday.

WNBA Draft: H-Town set to shine with Collier, Richards, Mulkey

HOUSTON – Nancy Mulkey walking into the Cypress Woods High School gym is something that Virginia Flores vividly remembers.

The 14-year-old freshman towering at 6-foot-5 stood out.

But just being tall doesn't automatically mean you are good at playing basketball. Flores waited to pass judgment until she saw her shoot.

Then she did.

"As soon as I saw her shoot, I was blown away," Flores, who coached at Cy Woods until 2017, said. "Here's a kid who's got finesse, has poise, and is graceful at the age of 14. She was either 6-5 or 6-6 at that time. That for me stood out."
