The stars of 2023-24 La Porte Girls Basketball
Coach Elisha Thompson enters her 13th year leading the La Porte Bulldogs program..
The Bulldogs are coming off an impressive 26-10 season a year ago, where they ultimately reached the Regional Quarterfinals.
Three starters return off that team, which is seeking its sixth-straight playoff appearance in 2024. The District 18-5A MVP Addisyn Parker (Sr. PG) is back for Thompson, along with Angelina Goynes (Sr. C) and Sophia Rodriguez (So. SG).
As has become routine in recent years, Bridgeland’s cross country program once again made its presence felt on the sport’s biggest stage.
With 14 total qualifiers competing at Old Settlers Park, the Bears delivered another standout showing — capturing the UIL 6A Girls State Championship and earning bronze in the 6A Boys race to cap an impressive November run.

Summer Creek gets huge momentum win headed into the playoffs
In football, there’s the offseason, the regular season, and the postseason — and as the second season wraps up, the playoff picture in Greater Houston is officially set.
Summer Creek made a major statement heading into the playoffs, knocking off North Shore, while Klein Oakdropped out of both the rankings and postseason contention.
In Class 5A, the top programs continue to hold firm, showing why the division remains one of the deepest in Texas.
Meanwhile, in the private school ranks, Kinkaid claimed the SPC Championship over Episcopal, finishing the regular season at No. 2 in this week’s rankings.
