Each week we take a look at a team from across the Austin/San Antonio area/surrounding areas that impressed us for one reason or another.
This week's team is one that brought home a state title to the Austin City this past weekend: the Lake Travis Cavaliers. The Cavs came into the contents 23-3 and were looking for redemption after their regional final defeat to State Champion San Antonio Lee the year prior. Not only did they get past the Regional Final but were able to blank The Woodlands on their way to the final Saturday. They came into the contest facing a goalie in Henry Heffstetler that wasn't letting anything past him. He had 8 saves in the contest but that didn't deter Lake Travis. Like they had done all season they were just a defensive juggernaut. They only allowed 24 goals all season (less than a goal a game) while scoring 109 goals. In the State Final game Lake Travis only allowed 2 shots on goal, and when it mattered most in PKs Goalie, and game MVP, Adam Schantz came up with 2 huge saves, including the one below, to secure the victory.

Not only that, the win gives Lake Travis the first win for an Austin Boys club in UIL Soccer History. Congratulations once again to Lake Travis, our Austin/San Antonio Team of the week.
