The Gators of Dickinson
By Matt Powell
No. 20 — DICKINSON GATORS
Consistency has become the standard at Dickinson under head coach Toya Peterson.
Approaching Year No. 4 at the wheel, Peterson has guided the Gators to an 80-22 record and six consecutive playoff appearances. Last winter’s 26-9 finish, capped by a District 24-6A title, reaffirmed the program’s place among the area’s 6A contenders. This year’s group returns a strong nucleus, anchored by first-team, all-district selection Lindsey Scott, who holds multiple college
offers and remains on an upwards trajectory.
She’ll be joined by veterans Tessa Treat (Jr. G), Kylie Cleveland (Jr. F), and Jaleigh Wilson (Sr. G), as well as freshman post Makinley Peterson — a group that gives Dickinson a reliable senseof chemistry.
For the Gators, the focus remains simple but demanding: “Defend & Dictate.”
