Westlake had themselves a week. It wasn’t just that the Lady Chaparrals swept to the Glenn Holiday Classic tournament title with a perfect 4-0 run; it’s the teams they beat along the way: #2 Glenn (58-45); #3 Vandegrift (54-26); #5 Round Rock (59-39); plus a 15-7 Tivy squad. They followed that up with a 70-46 win over #8 Austin High to open district play. Is it any doubt that Westlake (25-0) remains on top of our first Girls Power Rankings of 2026.

Glenn remains at #2, although it’s almost pick-a-name-out-of-a-hat time for positions #2-10. Liberty Hill moved up to #3, setting up an epic clash between the Lady Grizzlies and Lady Panthers on Tuesday night (1/6). Vandegrift leads a 25/26-6A parade to close out the Top 10, interrupted only by 5A Rouse at #9. The Lady Raiders have a showdown of their own Tuesday with resurgent Cedar Park, who’s cracked the Rankings for the first time this season. 4A New Tech remains the only smaller school in the mix.
