No. 18 -- Friendswood Mustangs
The Mustangs approach this spring hungry and loaded with talent, ready to turn last year’s near-misses into a lengthy trip through the postseason. Friendswood ran neck-and-neck with district champion Angleton before drawing a challenging first-round matchup against Nederland, which went on to reach the Region III Final.
Despite the early exit, Friendswood closed the season 24-7, laying a foundation for what promises to be a dynamic campaign.
Third-year head coach Jarrod Hunter will lean on a veteran core led by senior Maddie Green, the District 20-5A Pitcher of the Year, who signed with Stephen F. Austin this past November.

First-team all-district senior Lenox “Leni” Laviolette (Western Oklahoma State) locks down the corner at third base, with honorable mention catcher Ryland Pesak (Tyler JC) and shortstop Kira Sarabia (Wisconsin Lutheran) both also entering their senior year.
Also, expect sophomore Addison Bramlet to take on more responsibility, whether she’s filling in for Green in the circle or catching flyballs in the outfield.

No. 17 -- Crosby Cougars
The numbers only tell part of Crosby’s story. A 19-9 record and an Area Round appearance in 2025 marked tangible progress, but it was the Cougars’ first district championship in over 20 years that signaled a program trending upward under District 18-5A Coach of the Year Troy Fox.
Much of that confidence begins on the mound with senior right-hander Tori Dahnke, an Idaho State signee and the reigning 18-5A Pitcher of the Year. Dahnke went 13-2 a season ago with a 2.95 ERA while closing in on 200 strikeouts.

Offensively, junior shortstop Mackenzie Ross, a Wichita State commit, is back to energize the batting order after hitting .547 with 31 RBIs and 11 home runs en route to first-team all-district and TGCA All-State honors.
Elsewhere, senior catcher Hannah Daniel (Oakwood University) and sophomore utility Andi Owen—both first-team selections—supply the Cougars with balance and depth, alongside senior outfielder Katy Henderson.
