THE POWER RANKINGS: Westwood remains atop largely frozen Austin Boys rankings
Our Boys Power Rankings remained nearly as frozen as the Austin weather outside as most teams began the second half of district play. The top 7 squads went a combined 9-1 last week, with #4 Bowie’s close 5-point road loss at #3 Lake Travis being the only blemish of the bunch. That wasn’t enough to cost the Dawgs a spot, however. Cedar Park and surging Glenn moved up over East View, although the Patriots still remained inside the Top 10 despite a tough home loss to arch-rival Georgetown
Vista Ridge dropped a spot to #11 while Liberty Hill and Rouse (barely) stayed put just behind the Rangers. Akins reappeared in the Rankings at #14 with Manor New Tech, the only 4A club represented, rounding out the pack despite losing a close game at Austin LBJ. Keep an eye on those two down the stretch.
