THE POWER RANKINGS: Great games result in minimal movement for Austin area boys
Despite – or maybe because of -- several big games between ranked opponents this past week, there was minimal movement in our Rankings. Stony Point followed up their win over previously undefeated #2 Westwood with a gutsy close road win at #5 Round Rock; Westwood rebounded with wins over Vandegrift and an improved Vista Ridge squad; Round Rock rebounded from their 6-point loss to the Tigers with a road win at #8 Vandegrift, (who had a tough week and slipped spot). As a result, those three 25-6A clubs, along with St. Michael’s and Liberty Hill, remain locked into the Top 5.
After a nice week, Westlake moved up a spot as did Georgetown, who crept ever closer to cracking the Top 10. And the battle to reach the Rankings continued as McCallum blasted Bastrop to leapfrog Pflugerville Connally and climb back onto the charts.
The rest of the ranked teams won most of their games and held their ground as the season enters the home stretch.
