MONTGOMERY — Cullman's Will Thompson finished second at the Alabama All-Star Sports Week cross country race on Wednesday, helping the North boys pick up a tight 27-28 win against the South.
Guntersville's Sam Moultrie (16:44.90) clipped Thompson (16:46.50) for the top spot.
Cold Springs' Cole Akridge and St. Bernard's Caleb Guthery also competed in the event, which took place at Auburn University at Montgomery.
Cullman's Della Kelly, meanwhile, received an invitation to the girls race but didn't run due to injury.
