Beware of the Warriors.
With all the teams on the north side of Houston -- from The Woodlands, Concordia Lutheran, College Park, Conroe and Magnolia -- The Woodlands Christian Academy could be the best.
The Woodlands Christian Academy hoop team is state-ranked No. 1 in Class 4A TAPPS.
Coming off a win over Concordia Lutheran (ranked No. 5 in Class 6A TAPPS) over the weekend, the Warriors and coach Tanner Field are on a hot streak.
But that's no big surprise as TWCA has five TAPPS state titles since 2008.
Coach Tanner Field is also doing it without his top player -- senior Bakari LaStrap, who has been injured. He should be back by the end of the week.
Picking up the slack has been point guard Austin Benigni, Luke Mansfield, Tucker Nooe (The Woodlands transfer) and Chanse Perkins.
The Warriors are avenging an overtime TAPPS finals loss from a year ago and they seem to be right on track to challenge again.
