VYPE: How long have you been playing volleyball and how did you get your start?
Dement: I have been playing volleyball for 3 years and I started this sport after leaving 8 years of competitive gymnastics.
VYPE: Who's your favorite athlete and why?
Dement: My favorite athlete is Morgan Hentz because she gives her VERY best every single time she’s on the court for her team. I was lucky enough to train with her in the summer of 2021 for two days and she was everything and more than I expected.
VYPE: What's your pre-game meal? Routine?
Dement: My pre-game meal routine is usually blueberry oatmeal and OJ because it gives me high energy throughout tournaments.
VYPE: Off the court, what is your favorite thing to do?
Dement: Off the court, some of my favorite things to do are long boarding, wake surfing, swimming, and tumbling.
VYPE: What's your favorite subject in school?
Dement: My favorite subject in school is Math.
VYPE: What is the one memory from the game you'll never forget playing volleyball?
Dement: One memory from volleyball I will never forget was playing for the Championship at Nationals this year in Indianapolis. The amazing support from our coaches, the excitement in the crowd with the parents, the college coaches watching, and the music as they called our names out individually makes me want to go to the championship every year!
