KINGWOOD MUSTANGS
This winter has taken on profound significance for Kingwood. In Adam Bell’s third year as head coach, he and the Lady Mustangs have dedicated their season to the memory of the late Pres Holcomb, the longtime KHS coach whom Bell succeeded in 2023–24. Holcomb, a respected community pillar in Humble ISD, passed away on April 5, 2025, after a battle with Stage 4 colon cancer. The Mustangs have embraced the responsibility of honoring his legacy.
Their dedication has fueled an unbeaten 26–0–2 campaign, culminating in a State Tournament berth—the program’s first in 22 years. Last Friday, they defeated Dripping Springs 1–0, propelling Kingwood to its first UIL title game since 2002 and giving the squad a shot at its first championship since 1999—and third overall.
Given the team’s flawless record, it’s no surprise the Mustangs boast a well-balanced profile across every phase. The defense has conceded just 10 goals all winter—four of them in the postseason—while the attack has produced a staggering 129 goals in 2026.
Anchoring the Kingwood backline are team captains Kate Kristiansen and Camryn Hicks, both seniors. Fellow seniors Concepcion Maya (Texas Women’s University signee) and Harper Mills help drive the attack alongside junior forward Ellie Wood, offering a glimpse of the collective threat the Mustangs present.

FORNEY JACKRABBITS
Forney’s return to the Final Four for a second straight season—also just the second appearance in team history—proved anything but routine, as the Jackrabbits toppled previously No. 1-ranked Southlake Carroll and handed the Dragons their lone loss of the winter on Saturday afternoon.
In doing so, the Jackrabbits, led by head coach Trisha Williamson, advanced to their first-ever championship match. Forney’s 28–1 campaign reflects everything one could hope for in a contender: an unwavering ability to perform when the stakes are at their peak.
Powering this emerging standard is a roster filled with genuinely elite competitors, and few embody that distinction more than junior midfielder Addison Smith. Committed to Samford University since October, Smith leads Forney in both scoring and distribution, tallying 31 goals and 19 assists this season.
She’s supported in the attack by forwards Kalani Brundage (Jr.) and Addison Staats (Soph.), who have recorded 18 and 13 goals, respectively. Senior midfielder Devyn Gee helps drive the offense, while junior goalkeeper Cinnamon Hurst (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi commit) fortifies the defensive end with 10 shutouts this year

KLEIN CAIN HURRICANES
Klein Cain has taken its trademark “REIGNCAIN” vernacular quite literally, as the defending state champions now sit just two halves away from going back-to-back on the biggest stage in Texas.
Following a decisive 2–0 victory over The Woodlands in the Region II Final, the Hurricanes’ conditioned pedigree shone through once again in the ensuing 6A Division 1 Semifinal. Despite a 0–0 draw at the end of regulation, head coach Jerson Carrasco watched his squad endure the pressure of penalty kicks, ultimately seizing control of their own fate with a 5–4 shootout victory over Allen last Friday.
Entering this decisive matchup with an 18–3–5 record, Cain has maintained the synchronized, technical efficiency that delivered its inaugural title a year ago. Senior forward Parker Glenn—last season’s State MVP—can alter the trajectory of any match in an instant and currently leads the Hurricanes with 22 goals in 2026.
In the engine room, senior midfielder Noah Ballard—team captain alongside Glenn—helps orchestrate the attack, while senior goalkeeper Donato Farina anchors the defensive end behind a formidable Klein Cain backline.

ATASCOCITA EAGLES
Emboldened by a fanbase as expansive as Klein Cain’s, Atascocita is in the midst of a playoff run of resounding proportions. Head coach Jed Garner and the Eagles not only made the program’s debut in the State Final Four a week ago, but followed it by routing Cibolo Steele 4–1 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium to seal their place in the UIL title game. Now, all that remains for Atascocita (21–5–3) is to cap off the winter with a gold medal.
Despite being a sophomore, goalkeeper Lincoln Ramirez has already been named both a team captain and the starter—a testament to the faith Garner places in his poise between the posts. It also reflects well on the defense, anchored by captain Wyatt Bodily (Jr. CB), which hasn’t conceded more than one goal in a match since February.
On the attacking end, versatility has emerged as a defining trait for the Eagles, forcing opponents to pick their poison among the threats posed by Julian Sanchez (Jr. F), Miguel De La Cruz (Sr. F), Victor Garcia (Sr. MF), and Pedro Olvera (So. MF).

KELLER INDIANS
After dispatching Coppell in last week’s Region I Final—defeating the defending 6A Division 1 champions 2–1 to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2017—Keller continued its monumental run by setting a new benchmark for the club.
With another 2–1 victory, this time over Sachse, the Jeff Simpson-led Indians advanced to the UIL title game for the first time in program history, carrying an impressive 22-4-1 record into Georgetown.
Headlining Keller’s remarkably composed squad is a core of first-team all-district selections from last winter—namely senior forwards Ella Gutierrez and Claire Garritson (UTSA signee), along with senior defender Riley Hewitt (Houston) and sophomore midfielder Billie Davis.
Meanwhile, senior Ava Johnston has emerged as a true difference-maker between the posts, stepping up brilliantly following the graduation of last year’s District 4-6A Goalkeeper of the Year, Lennox Kauchak.

ROUND ROCK DRAGONS
Matching Keller in the magnitude of the moment, Round Rock (21-2-4) punched the program’s first-ever ticket to the state championship last Friday—albeit in dramatic fashion.
After a 1–1 draw with Summer Creek in the semifinal, the Dragons proved their mettle by prevailing 4–3 in the ensuing penalty shootout, keeping their hopes of capturing an inaugural UIL title alive and well.
Under head coach Chad Aldrich, Round Rock has allowed just 12 goals all winter, with only three coming in the postseason.
On the attacking end, the Dragons have relied on a host of standout performers, including Grace El-Deir (Texas State signee), Audrey Redus (Texas State), Carlee Deegan (Texas A&M–Corpus Christi), Montse Hernandez Soto, and Aidan Hernandez—all of whom earned first-team all-district honors last year.
