The stars of 2025-26 Memorial Softball
No. 24 -- Memorial Mustangs
Memorial returns to the diamond after a 22-6 season that saw the Mustangs reach the second round of the 6A Division II playoffs, falling only to a formidable Foster program.
Entering 2026, head coach Stephanie Royce and her squad aim to retake the district crown while pushing even deeper into the postseason. With 14 varsity returners on the roster, the Mustangs are well-positioned to make a statement.
The offense is led by junior catcher Sophie Vlasak, a first-team all-district selection who hit .455 with a stellar 43 RBIs and 13 home runs. Senior first baseman Bella Borrego, also a district first-teamer, posted a .500-plus batting average with 32 RBIs and eight home runs.
Seniors such as outfielder Brooke Kearns (.409 BA, 18 RBIs), Reagan Siblik (3B), and Riley Cannizaro (SS) will provide additional firepower. On the mound, senior right-hander Karli DeAnda, a Texas Lutheran commit and second-team honoree, should keep opponents honest, while Mercedes Bujanos (Sr. 2B/Mary-Hardin Baylor) brings depth and versatility as an honorable mention pick.

The stars of 2025-26 Kingwood Park Softball
No. 25 -- Kingwood Park Panthers
Looking back to last May, Kingwood Park delivered one of the most thrilling opening playoff series in recent memory. In a back-and-forth battle against Brenham, junior Ava Klinefelter’s 10-9 walk-off tied the series at one, only for the Panthers to narrowly fall 9-8 in the decider—a heartbreaker that showcased the grit and resilience K-Park is known for.
With that same competitive fire returning, third-year head coach Lindsay Gregory can expect her squad to carry plenty of hunger and motivation into the 2026 season.

Senior Ava Klinefelter is among the most notable returning veterans. A recent LA Tech signee and first-team all-district center fielder, she is poised to play a pivotal role in the Panthers’ resurgence. Anchoring the infield are first-team selection Samantha Barnes (Jr. 2B) and second-team honoree Keilee Brown (Jr. SS), both named team captains, forming the backbone of a relentless KPHS defense.
In the circle, senior Haylee Seales looks to build on the standout season that earned her District 18-5A Newcomer of the Year honors. Freshman Ava Tellez also draws attention, poised for a breakout campaign as she earns valuable reps behind the plate.
