Deer Park is always the team that consistently makes the playoffs and reaches the third round. Entering 2022, the Deer are riding a three-season streak of reaching the Regional Quarterfinals.
Now, can they get to their first Regional Tourney since 2019 this fall?
Led by seventh-year coach Cortni Cox (185-103), who will get career win No. 200 this season, said the keys for Deer Park’s success in 2022 predicate on “Teamwork, Grit and Determination”. With five starters returning off the District Championship squad, they should be in good shape.
They return first-team, all- district players Tatum Busch, Cayley Hanson and Ella Gilbert. Hanson was also named the District Setter of the Year. Second teamers Emmy Vincent and Kayleigh Dyson will be others to take note of.

With five returning starters set to grace the roster of Katy Tompkins in 2022 off a 36-6 Regional Quarterfinalist, the Falcons are a team to watch out for.
Led by Rice-commit Cindy Tchouangwa and Colorado School of Mines-commit Presley Powell, Tompkins has some firepower back.
Other players to take note of include first-team, all- district pick Tendai Titley, second teamer Brooklynn Merrell and honorable- mention picks Erica Dellesky and Skylar Skrabanek.
Keys to success in 2022 include “offensive execution, tempo and serving,” according to coach Allison Merrell, who enters her 10th year (183- 106) leading Tompkins.
