Kaitlyn Honora was also a first-teamer along with Aspen Maxwell, who was a freshman last season and the District Newcomer of the Year. Kennedy Gustafson and Taylor Larkin were second-teamers. Gustafson will anchor the defense while Larkin is a solid offensive weapon.
Also, watch out for senior outside hitter Madelyn Troy. "We have a bunch of offensive weapons this season. Our passing and setting will need to be on point to run our offense the way we want," Aguilar said.

Holes will need to be filled as District Offensive MVP Aryn Johnson is off to McNeese State. Back in the mix are Devyn Lewis, Lyric Jordan and Mary-Kate Preston. Preston is a presence in the middle with 90 blocks last season. She was the District Blocker MVP. Lewis and Jordan were first-team, all-district selections last season after combining for over 400 kills.
This team will be offensive. Jayden Walker and Morgan Sellers will handle the ball-handling duties, while Bea Angeles will play a bigger role on defense as a sophomore.
Friendswood is the power in the district but the Mavs could earn playoff appearance No. 9 in the fall.

JONES: I like to watch Bryce Harper. He is fun to watch.
VYPE: Off the field what do you like to do?
JONES: I'm a big music and gamer guy. My favorite game right now is MLB The Show. I also watch a lot on YouTube like video games, vlogs and baseball stuff.
VYPE: What legacy are you trying to leave here at LSA?
JONES: I'm trying to hit the most home runs in a season, that's been my biggest goal since I got here was to set the home run record.
VYPE: In 5-10 years, what do you see yourself doing?
JONES: Playing Major League Baseball.
VYPE: Who is your biggest inspiration, who do you play for?
JONES: I play for my brother and my mom. Those are the people that motivate me, they push me. Those are the people that I play for. They did everything.
