THE POWER RANKINGS: Rouse, Dripping Springs and Lake Travis continue to top baseball rankings
Rouse, Dripping Springs and Lake Travis all recorded sweeps between the raindrops to remain on top of this week’s baseball Power Rankings. Georgetown also had a perfect week, including a sweep of ranked Weiss, to slip in front of Buda Johnson at #4. The Jags split their week with a non-district loss at SA Reagan and settled in at #5.
Bowie swept Akins to move up to #6 while Anderson climbed two spots to #7 after a quality road win at #8 Liberty Hill. Weiss dropped to #9 after their tough series with Georgetown while Round Rock remained at #10 after splitting the week against ranked opponents.
Then it gets messy.
Cedar Ridge split with Vista Ridge (after sweeping Westwood) and dropped a game to McNeil while the Rangers also cruised to a win over Manor; Westwood lost to #10 Round Rock and bounced back with a win over Stony Point. Vandegrift went 3-0 after their split with Cedar Ridge, albeit against unranked Manor and Hutto, to rejoin their district foes in the rankings. Since it’s guesswork until these 25-6A teams sort it out, we’ll put San Marcos at #13, right in the middle of all of them.
