Considering most teams handled business as usual while the rest were on a bye, it stands to reason that there’s little to no change in the SATX Top 10.
Easily the most noteworthy result of the past week, Tivy bested fellow 4A heavyweight Davenport in an offensive shootout for the ages, taking down the Wolves, 70-66. The victory pushes the Antlers to 5-0 and puts them firmly in control of District 13-4A D1.
Johnson thwarted a scrappy Brandeis unit, 38-25, improving its perfect start to 4-0 as the Jaguars prepare to host Roosevelt on Thursday night.
Smithson Valley (5-0), Brennan (5-1), Champion (6-0), and Alamo Heights (5-1) were among the teams to flex with one-sided victories, while Steele (3-1-1), Boerne (5-0), and Harlan (4-1) will return from the bye with a chance to make their mark.
With that in mind, here’s a look at where everyone stands and the matchups on tap this week.

South Oak Cliff’s Isaiah Udom (SMU commit) and Jyrion Hampton (Texas State commit)
The second half of the season kicks off with most of the prominent Dallas-area powers returning refreshed from the bye week. As a result, movement in the hierarchy is minimal, with the exception of a few notable ascensions.
Following a brief drop, South Oak Cliff (3-2) can’t be overlooked anymore. Not that anyone was underestimating the defending UIL 5A Division II state champions, but the Mecca has officially found its stride in October. The Golden Bears’ latest blowout only adds to the momentum surrounding a team that appears increasingly comfortable in the district race.
On a similar note, Lovejoy (6-0) is finally beginning to get the recognition it deserves, with the Leopards making their debut in the rankings as they approach a decisive matchup with Argyle (5-1) this Friday. The 5A ranks continue to offer plenty of intrigue, with several unbeaten teams now entering the stretch run with little room for error.
Keeping with the trend of pivotal clashes on the horizon, Waxahachie (5-0) will host North Crowley (5-0), DeSoto (3-2) travels to Lancaster (4-1), and Lewisville (2-3*) faces a major test against Guyer (4-1).
The prime-time tests are here — and the Top 20 could be due for some chaos.
