Lamar Consolidated football is on a roll.
The energy was electric in Guy K. Traylor Memorial Stadium Friday night as fans cheered on their respective teams in the annual Battle of the Berg. Following Friday's highly anticipated rivalry game against Terry (1-2), Lamar Consolidated has improved to 3-0 to start the season ahead of district play.
The Battle of the Berg trophy will stay with Lamar Consolidated for the second straight year following a 56-28 victory over Terry.
Both teams played in support of first responders, with Lamar Consolidated and Terry backing Rosenberg police officers and firefighters, respectively. Emergency workers in attendance were recognized and served as honorary captains for the coin toss pregame.
Lamar Consolidated is looking to continue their winning streak with a disctrict game victory over Lake Creek on September 26 at 7pm.
