After a wild week six, Westgate High School has arrived in the Top 20. They edged out St. Thomas More in a thriller, 24-21, behind the performance of star WR Kayshon Boutte. With their second straight loss, St. Thomas More continues to slide down our rankings.
After also losing last week, Destrehan, East Ascension, and St. Augustine fall out of the Top 20. St. Augustine has a tough road ahead thanks to the controversial firing of their head coach and daunting district schedule.
The top seven teams remain unbeaten along with Dutchtown, 2A Notre Dame and 2A Isidore Newman. Leading Newman to their 6-0 start has been a freshman quarterback with a familiar last name. Arch Manning, son of Cooper and grandson of Archie, continues to have an outstanding season drawing comparisons to his uncles.
Another New Orleans area undefeated team, Rummel, has still not given up a touchdown on the season. However, they will face a strong Holy Cross team on Friday.
