The Port Neches-Groves Indians have rumbled into the playoffs for seven-straight seasons. Some would consider 2019 to be a bit of a down year, just on the premise that they did not surpass 10 wins, which they had done for the previous three years.
Blake Bost will be the one to try and wheel this team back into double digit victories again. Bost last year at QB passed for 2,505 yards and 15 scores. Brady Nail will be the top target for Bost at receiver.
<p><span style="background-color: initial;">Defensively, watch </span><span style="background-color: initial;">for linebackers Christian Sullivan (60 tackles) and Dean Guidry (45 tackles, 1 INT) will lead that corps, which brings back four starters. The Indians will battle <a href="https://www.vype.com/search/?q=barbers+hill" target="_blank">Barbers Hill</a> and <a href="https://www.vype.com/search/?q=crosby" target="_blank">Crosby</a> for the district title. </span></p>

Welcome to the 2020 football season. What a weird offseason it was for everyone. There was not a summer camp circuit for players to go showcase their talents at. In-person recruiting came to a screeching halt and the COVID-19 Pandemic has affected everyone.

<p>The FBCA Eagles have a new swagger under the direction of former NFL football player <a data-linked-post="2640046630" href="https://www.vype.com/fort-bend-eagles-go-big-with-new-hire" target="_blank">Jordan Black</a>. Black flipped the culture in just one season leading the Eagles to the postseason in 2019 after not even finishing the season in 2018. So, can they take the next step. VYPE says yes as the team is built up front. <a data-linked-post="2646883108" href="https://www.vype.com/Texas/Houston/private-school-playmakers" target="_blank">Remington Strickland</a> (6-foot-5, 300-pounds) sets the tone on the OL. <a data-linked-post="2646271410" href="https://www.vype.com/fbca-magazine-feature-brought-back-to-life" target="_blank">Robert Walter</a> and <a data-linked-post="2641232265" href="https://www.vype.com/feature-from-not-finishing-to-win-and-youre-in" target="_blank">Jalon Zuber</a> will complement Strickland and will play both ways. </p><p>Others to watch on what could be the most talented OL in the district includes Cohen Carpenter and Clifton Self. Quarterback JD Migl (2,082 yards, 18 TDs; 939 yards rushing, 14 TDs) is a solid signal-caller but is more dangerous with his feet. Dual-sport athlete Solomon Cole (612 all-purpose yards) gets it done as a DB and WR.<span></span></p>

<p><a data-linked-post="2639746817" href="https://www.vype.com/private-school-dark-horses" target="_blank">Trevor Manning</a> does everything but drive the bus for the Rosehill Christian Eagles. Manning is an all-state linebacker and athlete. He plays QB, RB and LB and led the Eagles to an undefeated district record in 2019. Manning rushed for more than 1,200 yards and nearly eclipsed 100 tackles. His running-mate is <a data-linked-post="2640075611" href="https://www.vype.com/2019-all-vype-private-school-football-team" target="_blank">Kyle Floris</a>, a second-teamer, who rushed for over 800 yards a year ago. Ben Nicholson will be one to watch at receiver. Kicker Brady Ward is a first-team, all-state returner. He was also a decorated DB.
