We're inside of 40 days before the start of the 2019 high school football season. Last year led to some pretty exhilarating moments and wonderful, underdog storylines.
And just like the professional and college ranks, success - and failure - breeds the constant revolving door for Texas high school head coaches.
So we're going to look at who's new at which school per classification.
Tracking 3A
In the 3A classification, 10 more schools had to replace coaches whether due to resignations or retirements. The 2018 combined records for these schools was 41-67 - an average of 4.1 wins to 6.7 losses - and a state championship.
Bowie
2018 Record: 2-8
Old Coach: Dylan Stark
New Coach: Cory Mandrell
After five playoff appearances in eight seasons at Bowie, Dylan Stark moved to a staff position at Windthorst, allowing former Snyder head coach Cory Mandrell to take over after three years and an 11-20 record.
