Cy Springs Athletes of the Week presented by T-Mobile: Davon Wright, Amber Williams
HOUSTON - A few weeks into the 2019-2020 basketball season, Cypress Springs boys and girls hoops teams have found success.
For the boys, through the first five games of the season it has been senior Davon Wright carrying the load for the Panthers. Wright has averaged an impressive 26.4 point, nine rebounds, four assists and 2.4 blocks per game through the first five.
"Hes done a great job trusting his coaches and elevating his efficiency to a new level," Cy Springs coach Larry Boykin said.
On the girls side, it has been Amber Williams. In the past three games, Williams is averaging 15 points and five rebounds per game.
"Over the last few games Amber has really controlled our offense," Cy Springs coach Taneisha Rogers said. "She's unique from what I've had in the past in a sense that she can score as a point guard. I've challenged her to do a lot this season; handle the ball, score, rebound and she's done all of that lately.
"I have a special group this season and Amber has a great support team that helps her out."
