Lufkin Athletes of the Week presented by T-Mobile: Jordan Moore and Aaliyah Menefee

With football season fully in the rear view mirror, Lufkin quarterback Jordan Moore has made the transition to the basketball court.

The Panthers' quarterback came up big for in a 65-41 victory over Bridge City on Friday as a part of the Nederland Tournament. Moore finished with a team-leading 17 points for the Panthers. Lufkin faces Vidor next as a part of the weekend tournament on Friday night.

On the girls' side, the Lady Panthers have been getting some solid points from Aaliyah Menefee, especially the last few days.

On Thursday, in a 63-25 win over Livingston, Menefee finished with a team-high 26 points. Just a few days earlier, Lufkin pulled off a big 58-31 victory over Silsbee. Menefee finished with a team-leading 12 points in that contest.

Both the boys and girls teams are competing in tournaments this weekend where fans should expect big play out of Moore and Menefee.
