The stars of 2025-26 The Woodlands Girls Basketball
No. 16 -- THE WOODLANDS HIGHLANDERS
The 6A-D1 Regional Semis marked the end of a 24-11 showing for The Woodlands, capping off their tremendous playoff run with a tough battle against Duncanville.
Coach Ashley Davis has the luxury of returning her entire starting lineup, giving the program a rare sense of continuity as they aim for a third-straight postseason trip in 2026.
Central to the Highlanders’ ambitions is Oklahoma Christian-commit Isa Alaniz, aka “Isa Bucket”. The senior guard averaged 11.3points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season and received a first-team, all-district nod.
Supporting her are fellow first-team selections Rachael Roberts (9.8 ppg, 2.5 apg, 3.7 rpg, 2.3 spg) and Caelyn Hoffman, who collected 8 rebounds per game, providing a strong interior presence that balances the roster.
The Highlanders’ success will hinge on maintaining a united team identity and dominating defensively, according to Davis and her staff. Furthermore, they plan to emphasize communication and intensity on both ends of the court, while trusting their experienced starters to guide younger contributors.

The stars of 2025-26 Katy Jordan Girls Basketball
No. 17 -- KATY JORDAN WARRIORS
Katy Jordan set a new standard in 2025, reaching the playoffs for the first time in program history. The Warriors finished 18-13 overall and advanced to the Bi-District round, signaling the start of a promising era under fourth-year coach Shalesha Pierce, who has amassed 226 career coaching victories.
The team’s impact will be shared across a talented group of returners. Ciara Emezue (Sr. C), Carlie Lewis (Jr. PG), Natalie Epstein (Jr. F), Sarah Ishaq (Jr. G), and Nimi Adeleye (So. F) each bring the ability to influence the game in multiple ways, from scoring and playmaking to defense and rebounding.
Their development, consistency, and chemistry will be essential as the Warriors aim not just to return to the postseason, but to go deeper than ever before.
Jordan’s motto, “Lets EAT (Effort, Attitude, Toughness),” captures the ethos the program is building: a combination of grit, focus, and competitive fire.

The stars of 2025-26 Cy Creek Girls Basketball
No. 18 -- CYPRESS CREEK COUGARS
Following a 12-20 season plagued by injuries, Cypress Creek enters 2026 with plenty of motivation to return to the brackets. Coach Shay Arnick, entering her second year at the helm, will rely on a core of returning starters to help the Cougars respond and reestablish their competitive edge.
The catalyst of the roster is Georgia State-commit Aubrey Hampton, who averaged 15 points and 13 rebounds per game last season, earning All-Region honors.

Joining her are District 16-6A Co-Offensive Player of the Year Mariyah Dickson, who put up 20 points per game, and Newcomer of the Year Kaycie Hanks, contributing 10 points per contest. Mariella Beechum (honorable mention) adds versatility and depth to a lineup built on both experience and talent.
Arnick will be stressing health and longevity, as the team seeks to uphold its motto: “Redeem & Revenge.”
Once a perennial State contender — most recently reaching the Final Four in 2021 — Cypress Creek hopes to recapture that level of success. If the Cougars can play to their potential, this roster could be the one to spark a playoff run reminiscent of their glory days.
