2025-26 Dawson Girls Basketball

No. 4 -- DAWSON EAGLES
A familiar face now leads the Dawson girls basketball program as Gary Douglas takes over the direction. After two seasons as a varsity assistant, Douglas inherits a team coming off a 34-5 campaign that included an undefeated district title and a trip to the Regional Finals — and he’ll have plenty of talent to keep the momentum going.
Tarleton State-commit Kendall Ford, last year’s District MVP and a McDonald’s Invitational All-Tournament selection, anchors the group once again. Alongside her is Bradley University-commit Journey Lovett, who earned All-District and All-Region honors. The depth doesn’t stop there.

Mia Barre (first-team, all-district) and Aubrianna Howard (second-team) return as reliable contributors, while senior Brooklynn Thomas and newcomer Faith Etienne — the reigning District 16-5A MVP from Ellison — add even more strength to the starting rotation.
For Douglas, success will hinge on the same principles that built Dawson’s recent rise: defensive consistency, rebounding dominance, and durability over along season. The faces may change, but the expectations in Pearland remain sky-high.

2025-26 C.E. King Girls Basketball

No. 5 -- C.E. KING PANTHERS
The Panthers finished 27-6 last season, advancing to the Area Round of the playoffs. Their only district setback came against Summer Creek, the eventual Class 6A-Division I State Champion, underscoring the level of competition in 23-6A.
As usual, expectations are high, but C.E. King is primed to contend for top honors in the district once again.
The core returns intact. Kyndall Roberts (Sr. PG), Skylar Conway (So.F), Tiana Patterson (Jr. PF), Layla Watson (Jr. C), and Aniya Cooper (Sr. G) headline a squad brimming with experience. Patterson and Cooper earned first-team, all-district accolades, while Conway was recognized as the District 23-6A Newcomer of the Year — a trio that provides scoring and versatility.
Head coach Derrick Daniels, a former standout at the University of Houston, pushes his players relentlessly, emphasizing fundamentals and discipline. His top priority this season will be staying healthy after injuries hampered the team in 2025.
