Undefeated Westlake cruised to an easy win to become the first Austin-area basketball team – Girls or Boys – to reach the 30-win mark this season and remain Queens of the Hill in the Capital City. Liberty Hill, Glenn and Vandegrift all swept the week to remain in-place behind the Lady Chaparrals. All heck broke loose behind these four, however.
Austin High won their won their two games, including an impressive performance against 10th-ranked district foe Dripping Springs, to climb into the Top 5. Lake Travis also advanced two spots with their second close win of the season over Bowie, who settled in right behind their district rivals. Round Rock and Drip fell two and one-spot respectively after each paired a win with a loss to a ranked opponent. Perennial state power Cedar Park continued to climb the charts with a sweep to crack the Top 10.
Rouse shuffled down with two tough losses to ranked opponents, followed by 4A Manor New Tech and surging Vista Ridge’s reappearance in the Rankings. Crockett and Hays flip-flopped positions to close out this week’s Rankings.
Here’s where the Girls stack up with roughly three weeks left in the regular season.
