THE POWER RANKINGS: Dominant Westlake bashes Top 10 teams (again) to top Austin area Girls Rankings
12 Jan, 2026
Undefeated Westlake again swamped two Top 10 opponents by 20+ points to remain ahead of the pack by several car lengths in this week’s Girls’ Power Rankings.
Liberty Hill defeated Glenn relatively comfortably to allow the Lady Panthers to flip-flop with the Lady Grizzles, with Vandegrift and Round Rock still rounding out the Top 5.
Bowie remained just in front of Austin High despite their 20-point loss to Westlake, if for no other reason than the Chaps had defeated the Lady Maroons by 24 earlier this year. They’ll face each other Tuesday (11/13) as they battle each other, #8 Lake Travis and #10 Dripping Springs – the latter two also flip-flopping after the Lady Cavs’ win over Drip -- for second place in District 26-6A.
New Tech and Crockett continue to dominate their district opponents in the bottom third of our Rankings while Cedar Park climbed the ladder a couple of spots and Vista Ridge cracked the Rankings with a convincing win over Cedar Ridge.
Here’s where they stand with more district showdowns on tap this week.
