Even as late as Thursday night, Springdale quarterback Ashton Glaser was uncertain whether he'd play in tonight's game at Fort Smith Southside.
Glaser has been hobbled by an ankle injury he suffered in a 55-27 win against Fayetteville last week. He wore crutches through Tuesday and has been unable to practice much this week. Still, Glaser said the team's goal is to win a conference title and that's still a possibility with the team sitting with a 1-1 mark in 7A West play.
"I want to play, but I can only do what my body will allow me to do," Glaser said. "It'll be a game-time decision."
Glaser could be relied on heavily if he plays because Bulldogs tailback Kris Watson also has a sprained ankle that he suffered in a pick-up basketball game earlier this week. Watson, a 5-foot-7, 166-pound fireball, also will be a game-time decision.
If Glaser cannot play, he will be replaced under center by sophomore Joseph Calcagni.
