Western Arkansas, AR

"I can't really walk on it right now," Glaser said. "I'm probably not going to play (at Fort Smith Southside) this week. That's just what everybody is telling me. "I can kind of walk on it, I just can't jog or anything like that."

Springdale quarterback and Missouri pledge Ashton Glaser iced his ankle Tuesday night after shedding crutches earlier that day for the first time since the injury, which came after he led the Red 'Dogs to a 55-27 win against rival Fayetteville.

"I can't really walk on it right now," Glaser said. "I'm probably not going to play (at Fort Smith Southside) this week. That's just what everybody is telling me.

"I can kind of walk on it, I just can't jog or anything like that."

While he said it's still "possible" he plays Friday, Glaser admitted to a lot of pain. However, he at least had a sense of humor about his circumstances.

"Just some small guy landed on it," Glaser said. "Colby Berna (a 6-4, 295-pound Arkansas pledge) jumped on me from behind and pulled me backwards and then landed on it."

Glaser called the game "pretty physical" as he was not the only one sidelined from both teams because of the brutality.

Of course, he knew all along Fayetteville would bring the wood.

"Anytime we play Fayetteville, I always end up getting hurt because both teams fight really well," Glaser said. "My very first game as a sophomor, we had Fayetteville at home and I cracked a rib and got a minor concussion and then last year, I took a helmet to the behind (bruised tailbone)."
