VYPE Player of the Week: Hayden Stokes
Western Arkansas, AR
Harrison senior Hayden Stokes showed why he's among the top quarterbacks in the state with strong showings at both the VYPE 7-on-7 tournament and the Top Gun QB Challenge last week.
Stokes, a 6-foot, 170-pounder, finished eighth in the Top Gun Challenge and led the Golden Goblins to a 4-3 record during pool play of the VYPE 7-on-7 in Fayetteville before losing to an upstart Hot Springs Lakeside in tournament play.
Few outside of Harrison and the 5A West were aware of Stokes' playmaking ability as he quietly served in a reserve role behind all-state quarterback Matt Brown. He did gain experience while Brown was injured and is a major reason, along with tight end and Hog pledge Austin Tate, why Harrison is picked to finish third in the 5A West in the VYPE Arkansas Football Preview Coaches' Poll.
