VYPE Player of the Week: Taylor Shaddy
Western Arkansas, AR
Fayetteville left-hander Taylor Shaddy struck out eight in 6 1/3 innings to lift Lindsey and Associates to a 5-4 win against Apak, a team comprised of players from Northeast Arkansas and Memphis.
Shaddy (4-1) allowed four runs on 10 hits in his American Legion team's opening game win of the All-American Tournament in Memphis.
Shaddy, a crafty southpaw who'll play at Arkansas-Fort Smith this fall, was named the Most Valuable Player of the Class 7A Championship game the past two high school seasons in pitching the Fayetteville Bulldogs to state titles. He also was featured on the cover of VYPE/High School Sports Magazine in August and was named VYPE's Baseball Player of the Year.
