We get plenty of feedback about what folks like about the magazine, but we want to hear what we’re doing wrong and what our readers believe we could do better.

Welcome to our sixth issue! Some were skeptical we could make it, but all indicators are that we’re here to stay. That’s due to our readers, coaches, administrators and advertisers who make each issue possible.
Notwithstanding, we want to keep improving and would love to hear from our readers about ways to reach new levels. We get plenty of feedback about what folks like about the magazine, but we want to hear what we’re doing wrong or what our readers believe we could do better.
Remember, this is YOUR magazine about YOUR kids, YOUR schools and YOUR communities, so feel free to drop me a line anytime at mike.capshaw@hsstm.com and tell me what you think.
Now, on to our sixth issue. This one is loaded with basketball coverage starting with our cover story on why girls’ hoops have been so strong across the region.
Our second feature takes us back down football’s road through the regular season, highlighting each of our 10 Games of the Week with more photos and recaps of each game we traveled to during our inaugural season.
Feature 3 is devoted to the awesome accomplishments of the Siloam Springs’ swim and diving teams including a focus on Ellis Miller, who many say is the next Mark Spitz of swimming.
Then it’s back to the hardwood for our fourth main feature as we polled several in the know to come up with our HSSTM Dirty Dozen of the top boys basketball players around.
We hit the lanes for Feature 5 with a look at Greenwood’s bowling teams that are among the best in the state in a sport that’s in only its second year of being sanctioned by the Arkansas Activities Association.
Speaking of the AAA, we’ve added a page for assistant executive director Wadie Moore to explain new rules and eligibility. It will be a regular feature each month to help keep student athletes and their families informed.
In our GamePlan section, we recap state championships in volleyball, tennis and cross country. Our LockerTalk section takes a look at the benefits of speed training and we also examine wrestling’s grapple with becoming a sanctioned sport.
Harrison’s Chris Bennett, a former Razorbacks basketball player, takes center court in Family Affair, former Razorbacks defensive end Jeb Huckeba joins us for How To? and former Shiloh Christian star Nick Floyd is featured in our Where Our They Now?
Also, don’t miss our Grill with Farmington coach Beau Thompson, Triple Play with Rogers hoopster Amanda Gibbons, One on One with Van Buren’s Erin Gatling and much, much more.
