TEAM CHEER USA AND TEAM DANCE USA ---
Western Arkansas, AR

" The new generation of cheer and dance."
The primary focus of Team Cheer USA and Team Dance USA is simple: help individuals who aspire to make cheerleading or dance teams realize their dreams.
"We are focused on preparing young people to make the team," said Angie Baker of Team Cheer USA and Team Dance USA. "Our owner (Mari See) recognized a need, especially in dance, to take the traditional dance studio concept and apply the elements and styles of dance that you see on junior high, high school and college dance teams.
"Team Dance focuses on team training, with each class having a team feel to them. All of Team Dance instruction is based in foundation, so we are a legitimate dance studio-our styles of dance are focused on team elements (pom, hip hop and jazz). Team Cheer provides instruction in all the elements of cheerleading that you see at the junior high, high school and college level, including tumbling, stunting (including coed stunting) and cheer technique."
Baker describes in greater detail all of the things that Team Cheer USA and Team Dance USA offer, and the reasoning behind it. "We see literally hundreds of girls trying out for school teams, with spots available only for a limited number of those kids," Baker said. "So, there are a lot of young people out there who aren't making the team. We also see an increase in male participation and the need for a training avenue there. We also see a need in Northwest Arkansas for training focused specifically on cheerleading skills and that is what our focus is.
"There are many options for training in gymnastics, including floor exercise, vault, balance beam and bars, and the options in those areas locally are very good. However, people who want to train for cheerleading want to focus on tumbling, cheer technique elements and stunting, and that is what we provide. So, they spend their time training in the skills they need to make the team and excel at their sport of choice."
That's not all. Baker goes on to say that, "All Star Cheer and Dance, which is what our competitive teams are considered, is a big industry but is just really starting to catch on in Northwest Arkansas. When kids and parents get exposed to these competitions, it is addictive and they can't wait to go back. Every child should have the opportunity to experience it and we are providing that opportunity. We want to take Arkansas to the next level in cheer and dance."
Virtually anyone can be a part of Team Cheer USA and Team Dance USA. "We provide services for boys and girls, ages 3 to adult," Baker noted. "We do all skill levels, beginner to advanced. We provide instruction/classes on both the cheer and dance sides for collegiate age and adults, including ballroom dance and salsa, yoga/pilates, adult fitness, etc."
This facility doesn't hold anything back with the technology, tools and highly-skilled professionals who work to make it all a success. "We provide training, choreography services, custom coaching, camps, clinics, etc to several of the local school teams in the area, both cheer and dance," Baker pointed out. "We have school teams that come to our facilities to train and we also send staff to schools to work with them. We provide schools services that allow them to customize what they need to help their teams, so it is a flexible, affordable option for them.
"Our staff is well trained and includes current and former college cheerleaders and dance team members, competitive gymnasts and instructors who have worked with or currently work with the professional cheer organizations of UCA/NCA (Universal Cheer Association/National Cheerleaders Association) and UDA (Universal Dance Association)."
Without a doubt there is a whole lot to cheer and dance about.
