Bloomington 13U softball team sweeps in Saint Louis

Bloomington’s Minnesota Sting 94 softball team, ranked No. 1 in the state, won the USSSA 13U Open World Series championship on July 19 in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Sting went 9-0 in tournament play, culminating in a 4-3 victory over the Kansas City Jazz.
The Sting’s Kelsy Kannegiesser was named Tournament MVP, with teammate Morgan Nybo earning Outstanding Pitcher honors. Ari Hipolito, Kayla Wenner, Sam Lashomb and Cassie Santiago each garnered a spot on the All-Tournament team.
