It was happy days in School District 833 as the Woodbury girls and Park of Cottage Grove boys golf teams each claimed their first-ever state championships in the inaugural Class AAA tournaments, held June 3-4 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.

Also holding aloft its first state championship was the Mounds Park Academy girls team, which earned Class A honors by a full 49 strokes over Osakis at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker after two days of competition June 4-5. The Meadow Creek Christian boys team won the Class A title in a weather-shortened one-day tournament.
