Victorea Austin had a taste of tennis success this year when she made it all the way to the state tournament. Her coach at St. Francis High School, Stephen Boyd, says that’s only the beginning. “She’s a sweet kid and she has a lot of upsides. She’s in her infancy in terms of looking at the scope of her game. You can see her getting better and better.”

Victorea, who has been playing for almost seven years, says she enjoys practice as well as competition. “I like it all. Practice because you can get better, especially the conditioning side to help you mentally. I like the competitive side because you meet new people and travel.”
