Junior middle blocker Ayve Alvarado is a second-year player on the North Side volleyball team. Paula Pederson is her volleyball coach and has known Ayve for three years. David Mishler is the North Side basketball coach, and is in his first year coaching Ayve. “I should win this because she calls me her mom,” said Pederson about the Triple Play. Meanwhile, Coach Mishler felt he was at a disadvantage from the beginning. “Most of my answers are probably wrong. I think the questions were volleyball biased,” he joked. Well, Pederson has known Ayve longer, so let’s find out if that translates to a Triple Play victory.
