David Tran is a senior at Sanderson High School and is on the school’s Varsity Wrestling Team. This school year marks an important milestone for the Sanderson Wrestlers for they will be defending their title as the Cap-7 Conference Champions. VYPE thought this was the perfect opportunity to let David, his coach and mom relax a little and take part in our light-hearted Triple Play.
Raleigh - Durham, North Carolina

For David, wrestling is a “direct reflection of how hard you work. It’s a sport in which anybody can be beaten at anytime. I enjoy the glory of a win and how hard work pays off.” Let’s see if his Mom and Coach can work as hard at our Triple Play and guess David’s answers to a few fun questions. ...
Nick Turner got out to a fast start in 2006 by placing fourth in the 200-meter dash as a freshman. Since then, the 6-foot, 180-pound Southport senior hasn’t let up, becoming a three-time state finalist in the event and a record-setter on the gridiron where he established a new single-season rushing record this year. Turner finished the season with 2,062 yards and 26 touchdowns. But who really knows the Cardinals’ speedster best? VYPE quizzed his mom and his head football coach to find out.

Just how hard is it to get inside the head of Argyle linebacker Blake Dunham? VYPE asks Blake’s proud father, The Ticket’s George Dunham, and big brother Brent to give us a clue.
Collin County, Texas

When Argyle junior Blake Dunham isn’t chasing down running backs, he’s just another teenage boy whose father, George happens to be one of the area’s top-rated sports radio personalities as part of KTCK’s Dunham & Miller show. We asked George and Brent, who’s been known to swing a mean stick on the golf course, to take a stab at how Blake would answer our monthly quiz. ...
Cypress Woods quarterback Lucas DeVilliers is having a break-out season. We caught up with him while nursing an injury to ask him a few questions. Can his girlfriend and super volleyballer or his coach guess his answers to a few personal questions?
Houston, TX

His coach David Jones is the underdog in this Triple Play. Caleigh McCorquodale is headed to Texas State on a volleyball scholarship and is the odds on favorite for this one. No one knows DeVilliers better than his girlfriend, right? Or will his coach have the right answers. We ask Caleigh and Coach to take part in our monthly lighthearted Triple Play. ...
Big Play Croitoru Runs Routes With Pops and Coach Mike Lee
Central Kansas

Senior Andover High wideout Alex Croitoru averages over 25 yards per catch, thanks to his 30-inch vertical leap and coach Mike Lee’s offense which will be featured in American Football Monthly next month. After a season opening loss to Buhler, Croitoru and Andover High had reeled off seven consecutive wins through Week 8, including the school’s first-ever win over crosstown rival Andover Central. Here’s 10 questions with Alex, his father...
Junior Taylor Hafling is the starting goalkeeper and captain for the Louisville Male soccer team. He is also keeper for the Javanon 92 team that won the regional competition this summer. “We have him as captain because he has such a high standard for playing and a high work ethic,” says Damien Sweeney, his coach at Male. “If anyone wants to be successful, they need to go to him and emulate what he does.”
Louisville, Kentucky

We asked Taylor, his mom, Denise, and Coach Sweeney a few questions to see who knows Taylor better. ...
Taylor Hryorchuk is a diver and cheerleader at Southlake Carroll High School. Aside from holding several school records, Taylor is an all-district, all-region, all-state, and all-American performer. She actually started diving before she even knew how to swim!
Fort Worth - Denton, Texas

Carolyn Hryorchuk is both Taylor’s mom and diving coach. So, we brought in a competitor that we though might have a chance to beat her – Taylor’s boyfriend, Eric Mazanowski. Carolyn still thought she should have the edge, “Because I’m the mom!” It’s a Triple Play showdown – mom vs. boyfriend – let’s see who knows Taylor better… ...
Finishing the season ranked No. 2 in the Class A poll can’t hurt the confidence of Breck School senior Brittney Faber as she decides where she wants to play tennis next year. The Mustangs’ No. 1 player finished second in the 2006 Class A state tournament and went undefeated this year in regular season matches.
St. Paul, MN

We asked both of Brittney’s parents to join in on the Triple Play action this month to see who could come closest to their daughter’s responses. ...
Junior tailback Shane Boedeker has given the Bentonville Tigers — the top-ranked team in the state at press time — consistency on offense to compliment one of the stingiest defenses around.
Western Arkansas

The 5-foot-10, 187-pounder is a left-hander who prefers running to his right so he can use his left to stiff-arm defnders. Shane loves to hang out with friends on the weekend and said "that's about it," as far as hobbies. We'll see who knows more about Shane, his Dad or his Coach, after asking the trio these 10 questions: ...
This month VYPE interviewed Isaac Minor, a junior on Fuquay-Varina High School’s Varsity Football Team…an activity that is very familiar to the Minor Family. Generations of Minor Men have played for Fuquay, but what about Mom? Will she be able to channel the Bengal Spirit and answer our Triple Play questions correctly, or will Isaac’s Coach have the upper hand?
Raleigh - Durham, North Carolina

Isaac has been playing football since the second grade and is currently a Middle Linebacker for Fuquay-Varina. What is his favorite part about playing for the Bengals? He said, “knowing that Fuquay is the same school that my brothers, my dad, and his brothers have played at.” ...
