Athletes of the Week: 3-4-09

Callie Dahl, Stillwater, hockey The senior forward led Stillwater to a Class 2A title with a tournament-high four goals and four assists. Zach Towle, Concordia Academy-Roseville, basketball The senior became the state's all-time leader in career three-pointers in an 82-61 win over St. Agnes on Friday. Two threes gave him a career total of 363, passing up former Ellsworth sharp-shooter Aaron Van Der Stoep, who reached 360 threes in 2007. Paul Moberg, Forest Lake, hockey The senior goalie made 54 saves in a 3-2 loss to Duluth East in the Section 7AA semifinals on Saturday. He also had 41 saves in a 3-2 playoff win over Andover on Feb. 24. Devon Meeks, Rosemount, swimming The junior won two individual races and two relays at the Section 3AA meet to advance to the state meet. He won the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.71 seconds, the 100 freestyle in 46.98 seconds and helped his relay team win both the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay.
