Kortum named Ms. Hockey

Hopkins forward Becky Kortum was named the winner of the 14th Ms. Hockey award in a ceremony at the Saint Paul Rivercentre, not quite a full day after her Royals squad fell to Stillwater in the State Class AA Girls Hockey Tournament title game next door at the Xcel Energy Center. The senior led her team in scoring with 43 goals and 28 assists during the season and scored five goals with three assists in the state tournament. Kortum was a co-captain on the Royals' squad this year, her fifth as a member of the varsity club.
