I look forward to see which teams vie to be on our cover next March as both teams last month won the state championship.

It had been since 1983 that I had been to a Minnesota State High School Tournament and it was great getting back to them again this year. I wasn’t able to attend the girls hockey tourney, but we had people there and was told it is a sport that continues to grow. I started by going to the wrestling tournament and was astonished by how many people were there. I didn’t realize how big a following they have. On to the boys hockey tournament… WOW!!! 129,000+ in attendance. Our partnership with Channel 45 proved to be a good move as we passed out in access of 6,000 magazines at the “Fun Zone.” I look forward to see which teams vie to be on our cover next March as both teams last month won the state championship. The MSHSL does a great job of coordinating these events. Let them know you appreciate their efforts.
In this month’s edition, we review all the tournaments we could get to before we went to print, as well as our features consisting of North St. Paul girls softball trying to defend their state championship from a year ago and a new emerging sport in lacrosse. We have an eye-opening feature of a suburban and inner city student swap, as well as a special athlete from Harding’s track team and finally as spring approaches we talk tennis.
Baseball is my passion so we will be covering that sport heavily over the next few months and there are a lot of games, so we could use your help by letting us now who is lighting it up.
Kasey Knutson from Toehold is starting his campaign of riding his bike to every major league baseball stadium to raise money for cancer for kids and we will be following his progress.
We are expanding our distribution to move into the surrounding cities of St. Paul and we still need those advertisers to continue to grow.
Thanks for your support and please continue to spread the word…
