Eden Prairie, Perham win Challenge Cup
St. Paul, MN
Schools athletic programs were most successful over past year
Perham and Eden Prairie high schools enjoyed the most success in Minnesota state sports over the last school year.
The Yellowjackets and the Eagles were named the latest winners of the Minnesota State High School League's Challenge Cup competition. Schools earn points for placing in postseason tournaments. Perham was a first-time winner in the small-school division, and Eden Prairie beat all the other big schools.
Perham finished with 548 points in 12 activities, thanks to titles in boys' cross country and girls' gymnastics.
Eden Prairie, which won the competition in 2006, had 743 points in 24 activities — including championships in football and girls' hockey.
