Edina hires new girls hockey coach

Former University of Minnesota hockey player and assistant coach Laura Slominski will take over the head coaching responsibilities for the girls hockey program at Edina High School. Slominski graduated from Burnsville High School in 1998 and went on to have a successful career with the Gophers from 1998-2002. Her accolades included All-WCHA honors in 2000, a top-10 nomination for the Patty Kazmaier Award and team captain her senior year. Since graduating from Minnesota, Slominski has coached one year at St. Cloud State and two at the U of M, where she acted as the Gophers' recruiting coordinator.
