As we prepare to gather information and get everything put together to go to print every month for this publication, I always get a “special” email or phone call from someone I haven’t talked with in many years. The kind words are sometimes overwhelming but greatly appreciated and it reminds me of exactly why I decided to do this. I have heard from many people that knew me in my high school and college days and it’s like nothing has changed. I had no idea that this publication would reconnect me with so many people and so many stories…thank you.

When I get a phone call from a grandma who wants a subscription for her grand kids I try to explain that it is a free publication and let them know where it is available. They don’t want to hear that and start giving me their address and want to know where to send the check.

We have opened up something very special here that is affecting a lot of people both young and old and as we continue to grow, I have a feeling this will continue. My goal from the beginning was to give the community something that would make special moments last forever through words and pictures, and I believe we are doing this. I am very proud of our team and the hard work they put forth every month to bring it together. We would really like to see more students writing and taking pictures so please send those in. It is about YOUR community and we want to showcase work from within the community.

We will be expanding into the five counties across the river over the next few months, but we will be keeping St. Paul as it’s own publication…you’ve earned your spot St. Paul. We definitely need to get the advertisers support across the river. The advertisers make this magazine possible so please let them know that you saw their ad in High School Sports The Magazine and thank them for supporting us. If you know anyone that may want to advertise, please put them in touch with us.

I had the opportunity to attend the State Tournaments for several sports through the month of March and it just reaffirms my belief that High School Sports do matter. The attendance at these venues was unbelievable and the community support blew me away. Keep it up St. Paul and we’ll do what we can to capture these priceless moments in both print and photos.
