Another Option
HSSTM: First, tell us a little bit about the sport, starting with its differences from American football.
Charles Ford: We have fifteen a side, football has eleven. We have no stoppages, except for injury or substitution. We don’t have specialty players who come in and off. Everybody plays offense, and everybody plays defense.
Britton Harper: No blocking, all passes are backwards, there’s an offsides.
If someone behind you kicks... More

Baseball was my first love. I played one semester in college.
I was raised in a strict household. My dad was a minister and when I went to college I realized... More

Bringing International Experience back to Stillwater
VYPE: How did you get involved in the USATF?
Christensen: In 1998, I read about this new coaching education plan in the Track and Field News. I signed up for the Level 1 in Orlando that February and then proceeded through all the levels eventually becoming an instructor, then a Lead Instructor, and now Chairman of Endurance. It is, and should be, a life-long, career endeavor. The relationships... More

Views From The Dugout
The voicemail greeting on Pat O'Neil's cell phone is O'Neil asking a question that has plagued mankind for years: "Who let the 'Dogs out?" The eighth-year Brownsburg baseball coach bleeds purple now, but early on it was the orange of LaPorte High School, his alma mater. A Slicer from the Class of 1975, O'Neil played for and later coached under legendary coach Ken Schreiber, who in 38 seasons won an... More

Staying on the Warpath
This is my third head coaching position. My first head baseball coaching position was at Weatherford in 1990-’91. When they reopened Arlington Bowie, I went over with Mike Stovall and was there for eleven years. From Bowie I came here.
When I left Bowie I was basically just looking for a job. I wanted to stay in the area. My wife teaches at Bailey and my kids are engrained... More

They dominated their first two playoff games by a combined score of 10-0 but fell in a shootout to The Colony in the 4A Region II Quarterfinal. Pure Royalty
McConnell: I talked to a few good sources about you – nothing bad, I promise – and the people around here say that you’re the true definition of a three-sport athlete (between volleyball, basketball and softball). How do you define what a three-sport athlete is, in your mind?
