The #3 Ravenscroft Varsity Girls Basketball team advanced to the NCISAA 3-A State Tournament semifinals with a 60-38 win over #6 Rabun Gap on Thursday, Feb. 26 at Charlotte Country Day. The Ravens took a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, building a 33-19 advantage by halftime. Paced by a game-high 19 points from TISAC Player of the Year Lindsay Cowher, the Ravens played aggressive defense to extend their lead by 49-27 entering the final quarter. All-Conference pick Erin Bratcher and junior Tianna Spears each had 10 points for the Ravens. Rabun Gap's leading scorer was Tomi Dare with 10 points. Ravenscroft will play #2 seed Hickory Grove (28-1) in the semifinals on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at Charlotte Country Day. Ravenscroft (28-3) has won 22 straight games dating back to a loss to Broughton in the GlaxoSmithKline Invitational on Dec. 26.
