Wake Forest-Rolesville scored 43-points in the first half on its way to a 71-14 crushing of Riverside. The two teams combined for 16-points in the final 40-seconds of the first half. Running back Trea Jones scored three touchdowns, the first of which was a 41-yard run. He also had a two-yard run, and a 59-yard pass from quarterback Tim Hartman for touchdowns. Hartman was 4-of-8 passing for 122-yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Torre White led the Cougars in receiving with 63-yards and two scores, but Jones added another 59-yards off of receptions. Wake Forest-Rolesville had 460-yards rushing as a team on Friday night, compared to Riverside's 134-yards. Brexton Young led the Cougars in rushing with 175-yards on seven carries. Jones had 110-yards on 12 carries. The Cougars averaged 25.6-points each time out last season, and their defense was able to hold opponents to just 9.5-points. The offense wasn't the only part of the Cougar team scoring Friday night, though. The defense got in on the action after forcing a Riverside safety.
