Players Work Hard at NZone Camp

Panther Creek and Cardinal Gibbons High School were well-represented in the recent NZone Football camp at Cardinal Gibbons High School June 23-25. 
The camp, owned and run by Noel Mazzone, wide receivers coach for the New York Jets, put the players through their paces and exposed them to college and NFL coaches and players.
"College camps have become recruiting tools," Mazzone said. "I hear it from high school coaches all the time; kids pay a bunch of money to go to these college camps, and the coaches just give the reps to the best players there.."
The camp focused on improving skills and knowledge of the game.
"For baseball and basketball you have legion and AAU, but there's not really anything for football where kids can just learn about football and get better," Mazzone said.
Mazzone has been a coach at the NFL Level, as well as a Division I coach offensive coordinator, including time at NC State with Philip Rivers and Jericho Cotchery.
Another camp is scheduled July 24-26.
