Vype Teams up with Tom Landry Classic

As seen on FORBES.COM, Business Wire...

VYPE High School Sports Magazine, Texas' premier high sports publication, today announced its collaboration with Roger Staubach's sports and entertainment company, PPI Marketing, to be the exclusive magazine and web partner for the Tom Landry Classic annual football doubleheader showcasing four of the region's top prep teams. The event will be held on August 30, 2008 at SMU.

The annual Tom Landry Classic is in its ninth year as a high school football tournament and scholarship program honoring the late Hall of Fame coach. This year's Landry Classic features Plano West vs. Southlake Carroll taking the field at SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium. In addition to some exciting games, the Classic offers scholarship opportunities for players, managers, cheerleaders, band members, trainers and field performers. To date, the Landry Classic and its corporate partners have awarded more than $340,000 in college scholarship assistance to students who have reflected the qualities Coach Landry exhibited including community service, integrity, leadership and academic excellence.

"The Tom Landry Classic is extremely excited to be partnering with the state's premiere high school sports magazine. Because Tom Landry's name is involved, we pay special attention to aligning the event with classy entities, and they certainly fit the profile," said Kristopher Cumnock, Vice President of Creative Services and Event Marketing for PPI Marketing.

"VYPE is thrilled about our partnership with the Tom Landry Classic. Both of our organizations are centered around uplifting kids and showcasing their accomplishments on and off the field. Mr. Landry's name is synonymous with integrity, so not only are we extremely excited by this association, but humbled as well," said JD Sanders, President and Managing partner for VYPE's Collin County and Greater Dallas publications.

VYPE will be running pre- and post-game feature stories about the Tom Landry Classic in its Collin County, Greater Dallas, and Tarrant-Denton print and online editions. Before and during the game, VYPE staff will be on-site handing out free copies of its annual 'Football Preview' magazine, and its writers, photographers, and editors will be deployed in the booth and on the field insuring full coverage of the event.
